Leonardo Cratus AKA: 'The Traitor'

The Traitor  Tumblr_lxxal9X78U1r3p9oto1_500

===IDENTITY===

Full Name: Leonardo Cratus
Nickname(s): Prisoner #00666, Leo
Codename: The Traitor
Age: 26
Classification: Villain
Affiliation: Neutral Evil

===PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION===

Hair Color: Jet Black
Eye Color: Black
Gender Male
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 190 lbs
Other Traits:
Prisoner #00666 stands at the height of six foot two and weighs in at one hundred and ninety pounds. He has jet black hair and ominous black eyes. From his time in the Military serving for first the Marines and then the CIA he is in the top physical shape for a man of his stature but nothing that could be considered remotely superhuman. (Unless of course he gains said powers) Prisoner #00666 carries himself as if he was high and mighty but is silent and calculating. Unless you are trained in listening to footsteps or have superhuman hearing you wouldn't be able to tell when the traitor is approaching until he is already looming over you.

===POWERS===

*Powers*:
Power Negation The Traitor’s main ability is that of Power Negation. He is able to passively negate the active powers of anyone within a forty foot radius of himself. While this negates active abilities, such as super strength, rapid cellular regeneration, emission based powers, and other powers the user has to actually emit some sort of control to use it does not work however against passive abilities.

Super Human Intelligence Leonardo has another passive ability of Superhuman Intelligence. He is much smarter than the average bear and is considered one of the smartest men alive with an IQ higher than that of Eisenstein who was reported to be in the range of around 160-180 while Leonardo's IQ was marked to be somewhere around the range of 190-200 and if you ask him he will say that he doesn't believe IQ tests anyway as he lied on his.
Skills:

  • Advanced Military Grade Hand to Hand Combat Training
  • Advanced Firearms Training, tought by the CIA/Marines
  • Advanced Tactical Analysis
  • Intelligence Officer
  • Espionage
  • Interrogation
  • Observation
  • Assessment
  • Escape Artistry
  • Knives
  • Fluent in English, Russian, Italian, and French

*Weaknesses* (have to have at least one main weakness):
-Mental Stability: Leonardo is considered clinically and criminally insane by perhaps all of the therapists, psychologists, and psychics that have come in contact with the man sense his arrest a year ago. This is a hindrance because it ensures that the man is placed in solitary confinement as often as possible and allowed little to no contract with the outside world.

- As one would expect Leonardo is over confident in his abilities, so much so that he could be considered Prideful. Never one to back down or change his view on something he’s said or done even if after the fact he realizes it was wrong you will never hear him admit it. He doesn’t truly believe everything he does is perfect or amazing but when it comes to the things he is good at, he won’t allow someone to slander or talk bad about him when it comes to those things. The Traitor is also what some people would call Arrogant. It seems to be that if one is prideful they are nine times out of ten going to be arrogant as well, and in the case of prisoner 300666 that just so happens to be true. He displays a sense of overbearing self-worth believing that he is simply better than most everyone else.

- He's human. If Leonardo doesn't have his hands on a power that makes him invulnerable or heal from wounds instantly or gives him the ability to do something that allows bullets and knives to just bonce off him he is just like you and me. He is human and can be killed just like an average human, a bullet or sword to the head or heart, or most fatal wounds will kill him just as easy as it would anyone.

Weapons/ Equipment:
As of now Leonardo Cratus has no equipment other than the standard 'living' requirements given at prisons as he is currently locked in a cell at Stryker's Island. However if he were to ever escape he just wears normal clothes, usually suits, a pair of black gloves, and a ballistic vest underneath his shirt with a Gerber Mark II 6.875" Double Serrated Blade with Nylon Sheath Knife strapped to the inside of his right leg which is hidden underneath his pant leg.

===PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE===

Personality:
Leonardo lives life head first and woe is the person who gets in his way. He is noted for his courage and leadership qualities, because he is always ready for action. The need for excitement pushes him into new territory -- and as long as he is ahead of others while demonstrating confidence, chances are that they will follow. As self-ordained leader of the pack he fights for what he believes to be important. But it's not that he is fearless. His courage is more of a commitment to face his fears and overcome them. Leo gets to where he is going, not because he is exceptionally fast or clever, but because he will not be distracted from his goals. The Lion is considered the king of the jungle, and likewise the man has an air of royalty about him. Cratus is hunting for ideas and experiences that draw him into greater awareness. As such, he tends to love adventure, travel and philosophy -- all ways of extending beyond his immediate surroundings. He seeks knowledge and wisdom, never tiring of the quest for what is yet to come. Others enjoy being with him when he is in his outgoing and joyful mood, but he can become more sullen if he feels that his wings have been clipped. Even in a restrictive situation, however, he’ll not lose hope.

Or at least that is what he used to be like. The exact moment Prisoner #00666 ‘lost it’ and turned into the ‘person’ he is today no one is sure as the psychics are unable to get a read on him due to his power negation ability, and those who can reach him from far away tend to leave the man’s mind in matter of seconds. He comes off as cold, calculating, and distant though this of course may be because he is locked up in the most secure prison in the world with nothing but time on his hands. In truth we have determined the traitor is mentally unstable with no known reasoning behind his actions other than he believes everything he ever once believed in to be wrong. If he were to ever be let loose on the world it can only be assumed that the ex-operative would be one of the most dangerous and unpredictable beings on the face of the planet.
Strengths:
Although not naturally charismatic Leonardo is however a natural born leader,  he was and is still able to rally up even the most disheartened of troops to follow him into battle. He seems to almost always be two, three, five steps ahead of the enemy and is able to relay information to those following him with strict, accurate, and unwavering precision. He is also an expert combatant, detective, and criminal mastermind it seems. (Any of his above mentioned Skills would also be his strengths.)
Interests/Habits:
-Not much truly interests the man known as the Traitor any more other than his thirst for knowledge. He always wants to learn something knew, to see just what makes the world spin. If this means killing thousands of people just to get what he wants or unveiling some truth the government wants to be kept hidden or even perhaps killing off or showing the world what their precious heroes truly look like than so be it. For what is a God to a non-believer?

===PERSONAL BACKGROUND===

Family Members: Sarah Cratus (Mother-Deceased)
Place of Origin: New York City, New York
History:
Prisoner #00666 was born in New York, New York on October 5, 1987 to Sarah Cratus and a father who was never quite there. He was a good child who tried his best to impress his mom and do whatever he could to help her, but being a single mother and already working two jobs to support them she never truly had the time for Leonardo. Things of course became even worse when it came time for Prisoner #00666 to start school. His mother being the caring lady she was didn’t want Leo to turn out like she did and so of course tried to put him in any private school that would take him. Sadly none did and she was just about to give up when the dean of a boot camp for those with super powers decided to open its doors to the young family.

They were both quite surprised as Leo had displayed no signs of power but Leo was sent off anyway and it was there that things started to get a little tricky. At first the newest and perhaps youngest cadet was bullied at the start of his stay being the only non-powered person there but things started to change when it was apparent that perhaps he wasn’t as powerless as everyone thought. Within his first few months there and whenever someone tried to bully the boy with their powers it seemed they just didn’t work. At the beginning it was thought simply to be a mishap or the person simply didn’t have as much control over their powers as they thought they did. Yet, when it started happen to anyone with powers whenever the boy was around people started to question just what was really going on.

So much so that during the beginning of his second year at the boarding school/boot camp he was sent to the dean’s office where a telepath was sent in to read the boy’s mind and see just what was going on. When the telepath was shown to have no effect on the boy and it was as if her powers didn’t work at all they were finally able to determine the first of young Leonardo’s powers. Or so they believed, it was thought that Leonardo had a strange power of Ability Negation, but upon further study this was deemed inaccurate, however it still could not be determined just what his power truly was. After this the boy was spear headed into the advanced classes and was brought up to be made sure he would join the military and NATO or CIA upon being eligible to do so.

It was during his fourth year at the boarding school, now nine years old, that Leonardo started to truly appreciate the life he was being lead to live. Rising through his class rankings and even skipping two grades the boy showed potential that was remarkable for kids years older than he was and this of course attracted attention to him. Attention a boy with a mother he only got to see once a year, soaked up and took at full value, until the bullying started up again.

This time though it didn't matter that only he knew what his power was because the kids were of course two years older than him. The staff and faculty did nothing about it as the dean wanted to see just how far they could push the boy, and so it continued for two more years. Two long years Leonardo suffered bullying by kids older than he was until he started to stop doing everything by the books and fought back. It wasn't often at first but the few times he did fight back it was apparent being a bookworm and a 'nerd' finally paid off, as he also acceded at hand to hand combat. Needless to say by the end of that year the bullying stopped and Leonardo was able to continue life as he wanted, even getting a few friends here and there.

At the age of Fourteen he was shot into the boarding school's Marine ROTC program, graduating at age sixteen as the programs Cadet Battalion Commander with the rank of Lt. Col. Following in the footsteps that were placed out for him, still thinking it was his own decision, Leonardo took the ASVAB scoring a perfect score of 99 he quickly joined the Marines at the officer rank of 1st Lt. For three years he served as an intelligence officer for the United States Marines until he and those still observing him were made away of his second power. The power of ability replication, which was identified after a routine psychological check up went a little 'hay wire'. Essentially Leonardo and the Doctor had some 'fun' and after words Leonardo was noted complaining of headaches and thought he could read minds. It was here that the rest of the world was let in on the secret Leonardo had been keeping all those years. He had the power of Ability Replication.

Dispatched from the Marines he was quickly snagged by the CIA and placed in their super human intelligence and espionage division where he would serve for the next Four years. It was here that he truly made a name for himself and throughout classified tours in Russia, Rome, France, and other part of Europe or America that he discovered just what he could really do. But it was also when he started to uncover secrets about his life that were kept from him. Secrets that made Leonardo start to question if he anything he did had been of his own free will, or if there had even been such a thing as free will for him ever.

Putting it all down to superstition and the job getting to his head he took a month's leave and it was during this month leave that he ventured out to Boston. It just so happened that listening to a speech by one of the cities well know super heroes and drinking a cup of Starbucks coffee wasn't to be the most interesting thing that happened to him that day. When things started to go south and the front row of people started to die was when he took action. Working side by side with the rest of the heroes Leonardo did his part in taking down whatever threats he could, from a far, up close and wherever he was needed.

This disastrous event left a scar upon the man's already faltering conscious but he seemed to stay strong and he was even one of the supporters of a Meta-Human Registration Act. It was in this first year after the event that the twenty four year old going twenty five year became a part of one of the original members of the American Guardians as the team called themselves. For that year he worked for the CIA and the Gaurdians until a few days after his twenty fifth birthday where he snapped. It was, and still is, unclear what finally pushed Agent Cratus over the edge but in his fit of rage he took down fifteen CIA agents and ten swat officers and twenty normal police officers before being subdued by his old teammates.

For the last year and a half he has been stuck in a cell on Stryker’s Island, because no other prison was secure enough, biding his time and doing what all 'clinically insane' do when kept under constant watch do. He has little contact with the outside world, only getting 'visited' by the warden or therapists once every other month. Although it does seem that everyone in the prison wants a piece of him whether it being the guards with a vendetta against the Traitor who killed their friends or family or the other inmates wanting the freak that only furthered to prove the word’s view’s on meta-humans dead. This all matters little to him though, to them they're all just pawns in his bigger plan...what that is even he may not know. For now though Prisoner #00666 sits in his cell leaving only for food and occasional exercise that is of course monitored.
*Sample rp*:
When he wasn’t sleeping, eating, or working out to stay in shape he would sit in his ‘room’ and think. What he thought about only he truly knew which of course was just the way he liked it. Even the world’s top psychics and mind readers did not dare to enter his mind for fear of what they would find, he was regarded as criminally insane but their reasoning for dubbing him so? Simply because he saw the truth, he peaked behind the curtain and saw the man sitting there at his work shop operating the great and powerful Oz. He saw the truth of the organization and all the errors they and even he himself had committed, and it was not a truth the man dubbed ‘The Traitor’ enjoyed.

To the eyes of his own American people, and the Government he worked so hard to protect and serve he was worse than Snowden a man who revealed some of the same truth that ‘prisoner #00666’ had foreseen and was nearly as bad as the man who first saw the truth. A different truth, but a truth nonetheless. Because of this he now sat in the world’s highest security prison, a place from which he did not believe he would ever escape from. A fate worse than death if you believed the stories that were told about the big bad Island, and he certainly did. The only good thing about his ‘life’ in the prison was his solidarity. Sure he was always under constant watch, but they did not let anyone near him for fear he would steal said poor sap’s power and use it against them.

With his mind any power became dangerous in his hands, the possibilities of things he could do were endless and all it required was a little touch. Just one tiny touch was enough for him to absorb the knowledge of the holder and rewrite his own DNA to give him that power. Of course here on the lonely Stryker’s Island where everyone was a prisoner, human interaction was little to none. Running a hand through his hair he grinned a devilish grin, turned and looked up at the camera before winking and turning around so his back was towards the camera, and the door. Human interaction was about to become one. It would probably be some guard or a ‘handler’ who had no powers but it would be enough to set his mind at ease, perhaps this time it would be someone with some intelligence. Someone who could match his wit. He doubted it.

Not many people alive, save for those with super human intelligence could match his mind. 1 out of every 3,000,000 could if you were to believe the IQ tests, but he didn’t, he lied on his. A sly grin plastered onto his face, piercing black eyes burning into the wall now in front of him he listened. Listened and waited, it shouldn’t be long now, especially when he slowly reached his right hand into his left sleeve. There was nothing there of course, he knew that subconsciously, but consciously which of course was the best way to fool a psychic he believed there was something there. Fingers slowly gripping around the object, mentally he could feel his hands wrapping around it, but he did not pull it out. Oh no, too early for that…best to wait and let the man or woman coming to visit there first.

Tick, tock went the clock in his brain as the seconds went by, tick, tock, tick, tock…there were the footsteps. Oh the lovely footsteps…he couldn’t quite place whom they belonged to, they were not those of someone he had heard recently. Or perhaps he had never heard them at all…no matter they were upon the door now. The lock was opened and the door handle turned down, the door flying open as they stepped in the room. His back still turned to the person who had made their entrance, ‘The Traitor’ took a deep breath taking in their scent and smiled. “Hello, so good of you to join me…I’d offer you something to drink, but at the most it would be toilet water.”

Hey there Shadey!!

Alright, so everything looks good! Your writing and story telling is amazing, and your details and explanations are excellent as well. However, there is an issue with the powers that you gave The Traitor.

Vig. and I talked it out for a good while, and although we agree that how you explained everything with the limitations and the qualifications for this power to work, we, at this moment, do not think it's a good idea for The Traitor to have the power of mimicry.

The thing is, is that with nullification and intelligence, you can go a long way with those, and mimicry kinda pushes it over the edge. Also, because the site is still starting out, we need to be a little more stricter with powers, to ensure that there will not be any future god-modding, or overpowering. Both Vig. and I agree that if you prove yourself, we will allow you to have mimicry later on.

Overall, your application was spectacular, and I hope you will agree with this compromise. Other than that, everything is good to go!

Would it be possible to have the mimicry instead of the negation of is the mimicry the main problem?

The Traitor Empty Re: The Traitor

Post by Zanna Mon Mar 23, 2015 11:20 pm

I asked Vig. the same thing, and after discussing, we both decided that mimicry is the main problem here.

We have been on sites where mimicry was kinda misused a lot, and even though i know you and stuff through years of CHB, Vig. would like to see how you do with everything before he can allow you to have mimicry.

He isn't saying it's impossible, he just needs to see through RP if you are THE ONE who is able to pull of mimicry without overpowering etc.

We both think the nullification and the intelligence is a great combo though, and would make The Traitor an amazing villain. Who knows, if Vig. changes his mind, we can work in somewhere where The Traitor's nullification is morphed into a separate branch of power which is mimicry.
